San Diego Carnivorous Plant Society 2026 Calendar

All 2026 general meetings will take place in Balboa Park Casa del Prado Room 104, and the annual show and sale will take place in the adjacent Casa del Prado Room 101. General meeting dates alternate Saturdays or Sundays, so be sure to check the schedule. Meetings are open to all, members and non-members, and there is no admission fee to attend. However, there may be parking fees.

The City of San Diego has instituted paid parking at Balboa Park, both in the lots and in the adjacent streets. Please consult the City’s Parking Information for Balboa Park page for details and rates, including information on the one lot that allows up to 3 hours of free parking. Parking at Balboa Park can be difficult on weekends - please refer to the Balboa Park map for parking lots, public bus stops, and park Tram stops (our meeting room is denoted by the purple “9” on the map).

San Diego Carnivorous Plant Society meetings are a live forum to discuss all things carnivorous plants. There will always be a handful of plants for sale or trade at every meeting. All interest and experience levels welcome!

General meetings begin at 10:00 a.m. with socializing and a chance to check out plants for sale or trade. Meeting programs generally begin around 10:30, and are followed by more chances to socialize, ask questions and shop.

Memberships are a $20 donation per year to help cover the costs of the Balboa Park room use, community outreach and education events, and to support our Annual Sale & Show. Membership donations can be paid in-person at any meeting. Please bring a snack or beverage to share.

• May 1, Carnivorous Plant Pop Up at Serpentine Cider (4pm-7pm)

  • Gage Hulsey will be traveling from Long Beach to sell his amazing seed grown Sarracenia, Drosera, Venus Fly Traps, and others. Come enjoy a socially-distanced evening at this open air venue! Attendance is free, plants and cider are buy-your-own. (@GageGrowForYou)

  • In-person meet and plant sale at a beautifully staged Bromeliad and Tillandsia nursery. Admission is free and please abide by local face covering and social distancing requirements.

We encourage everyone to instead support our SoCal sister society by attending this phenomenal not-to-miss event!   • Build a bog with Gerry! Join us to learn how to build a basic outdoor bog. Providing a successful outdoor space for your carnivorous plants can be easy! (Did you also know that the SDCPS helped build the Balboa Park Botanical Building bog?!) Meeting link will be posted the day before.
